11/05/14 My Heart's Cry For Some

11/05/14 My Heart's Cry For Some

When a person resists, rejects the call of God, then the pleadings of men are cries to a heart of stone. The Scripture says that those people will be cut off suddenly, and that without remedy (*). I meet people who come from non believing home, and when they get saved, they realize the eternal loss and hopelessness of their dead loved ones. How sad for those who have loved ones who have heard the gospel and willfully sinned themselves to death (**).

Here are three passages to consider. (I used New Living Translation for the Proverbs passages because it puts some of the idioms in more understandable terms).

(*) Proverbs 6:12-19 New Living Translation (NLT)
12 What are worthless and wicked people like?
They are constant liars,
13 signaling their deceit with a wink of the eye,
a nudge of the foot, or the wiggle of fingers.
14 Their perverted hearts plot evil,
and they constantly stir up trouble.
15 But they will be destroyed suddenly,
broken in an instant beyond all hope of healing.
16 There are six things the Lord hates—
no, seven things he detests:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that kill the innocent,
18 a heart that plots evil,
feet that race to do wrong,
19 a false witness who pours out lies,
a person who sows discord in a family.

Proverbs 29:1 New Living Translation (NLT)
29 Whoever stubbornly refuses to accept criticism
will suddenly be destroyed beyond recovery.

(**) Hebrews 10:26-31 (KJV)
(26) For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,
(27) But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
(28) He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
(29) Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
(30) For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
(31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

HAPPILY, SADLY

I don't believe in, unconditional, unilateral, double election, but I have known people who seem to personify the idea. Happily, God wants to save them: sadly, they refuse His call and His enabling.
