11/05/14 MIDTERMS ARE OVER, NOW CONSIDER THIS
Okay, the elections are over. Some of you are elated, some are enraged. But we still have the same corrupted system (though it started out with best intentions), and it is still led by people who are not aligned with God and His word, therefore we will suffer more set backs. Now is the time to regroup, not with a political party, but with God and His word. Not following humanistic agendas, but finding and following Divine directives.
For those who place their hope in a "party," you are going to be disappointed. Parties are the channels of human intentions, which are a mixed bag of good and evil. Political endeavors are the corrupted attempts to fulfill those intentions.
Every human government in history has failed, and every human government in the future will fail. Christians must still do the right thing, regardless of the political environment, but Christians do not, "...trust in chariots and in horses" (the power of human government), but we trust in God. We trust in God to accomplish His will, not human dreams.
God wants us to align our wants with His wants; our will, with His will. Then He wants us to surrender our lives to His Lordship, and spend our time, talents, and treasures on that which does not pass away.
(After reading the next three verses, from Psalms, Isaiah, and 1 John, please reflect on Psalm 62:1-12. It is short, but timely).
Psalms 20:7
(7) Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Isaiah 31:1
(1) Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
1 John 2:17
(17) And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides for ever.
Psalms 62:1-12
(1) Truly my soul waits upon God: from him comes my salvation.
(2) He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
(3) How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
(4) They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah (think on this).
(5) My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
(6) He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved.
(7) In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
(8) Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah (think on this).
(9) Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
(10) Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
(11) God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongs unto God.
(12) Also unto thee, O Lord, belongs mercy: for thou renders to every man according to his work.
