We had our first study class on Christian truth today. This includes the children from 6 years to 11 years old in our church. It is basically a study in Theology, and Biblical background.
The class lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. Today's subject was God. God is the supreme being. I gave 11 characteristics of God. They were in three different categories. The categories had 4, then 4 then 3 different traits.
We began by thinking about God being the supreme being. We defined the word "supreme" and also the word, "being." We also talked about "angels" as a created group, but also the use of the word "angel" concerning messengers. The word, "angel" (as messenger) can be used in reference to Angels and humans and even God.
Here are the traits or characteristics concerning God that we considered today.
God is the Supreme Being.
God is supreme because He is Unique, the only one like Himself, one of a kind.
God is supreme because He is Self Existent.
God is supreme because He is Eternal.
God is supreme because He is Creator .
God is supreme because He is King of kings.
God is supreme because He is Lawgiver (Lawmaker).
God is supreme because He is Judge.
God is supreme because He is Savior.
God is supreme because He is Omnipresent.
God is supreme because He is Omniscient.
God is supreme because He is Omnipotent.
I also addressed polytheism, pantheism; origin of universe, angels, mankind; God's sustenance of His creation.
God knows the future and planned to send His Son as our sacrifice.
God is Father, Son, and, Holy Spirit, but only one God.
It was a very good session of 47 minutes. I video recorded it on my laptop.
