08/25/14 WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE JEW

08/25/14 WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE JEW

It is not your fault if your parent(s) raised you in an anti-Semitic atmosphere, and it is not your fault if your society and culture are anti-Israel, and it is not your fault if your friends have been Jew haters. But it is your responsibility to reject all hatred and repent of your prejudice against Jews and the nation of Israel. In fact without repentance, some of you cannot turn from your hellish hatred.

HOW ODD OF GOD TO CHOOSE THE JEWS (borrowed phrase)
The Bible clearly says that God chose, blessed, used and will keep Israel. The Bible clearly says that God will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel.

DON'T LIFT YOUR VOICE AGAINST GOD'S CHOICE.
The hatred for Israel and Jews is Satan's rejection and resistance of God's will and plan. Usually this hatred is manifested by those who also reject the Bible as the inspired and inerrant word of God, but it is also seen in some people who claim to believe the Bible, but disavow God's choosing, blessing and using Israel beyond the Old Testament. In ether case it is a matter of rejecting and denying the Bible.

God does not give a pass to sin, to either Jews or Israel, and we should not ignore Jewish or Israeli evil. But do not stand on the wrong side of history, or eschatology, or Deity, or soteriology. Do not stand against Israel.

Consider this (concerning History, Escahtology, Deity, and Soteriology)...

HISTORY
If we agree with human/societal response to the Jew throughout history (since the time of Abraham), we would stand against the Jew/Israel. I use both "Jew" and "Israel" interchangeably, though there are technical differences.

Hebrew (descendant of Eber), spoken of Abraham in Ge. 14:13.

Israelite or sons/children of Israel (descendant of Israel, originally Jacob), used in Numbers 25:14. This designation included the entire unified nation of Israel.

Jew or Jews (descendant of Judah), used in reference to the southern kingdom, after the division of Israel. Israel continued to be the name of the northern kingdom (which is basically the northern ten tribes), and Judah was the name of the southern kingdom (which actually include other tribes as well).

After the exiles of Israel (Assyrian) and Judah (Babylonian), the return to Israel (Judah) was focused on the southern kingdom, since that was the location of the Temple. The name, "Jew" became the most used name for these people.

Jews have been hated and oppressed by the greatest empires in western history. People in modern times have also tried to exterminate the Jews, to no avail.

ESCHATOLOGY
(end times or last things)
God's plan for the Jew spans all of past history and future history (end times).
In the Old Testament we see that God gave the Jew, the law of God, the temple worship of God, the sacrifices of God, the prophets and prophecies of God, the miracles of God, the revelation of God.
In the New Testament we see that God gave His only begotten Son through the Jews, and God established the gospel ministry of the Church on the Old Testament revelation.
In the future, God will save Israel from the attempt of the anti-Christ to destroy them; He will use two Jewish witnesses, and 144,000 Jewish preachers. When Christ returns He will judge the nations, based on their treatment of the Jews during the Tribulation and will graft restored Israel back into His plan. Christ will set up His kingdom in the city of Jerusalem, and sit upon His throne in the Jewish Temple.

DEITY
God has spoken and committed Himself to the preservation of Israel. God has promised to bless and curse nations and people according to the way they view/treat Israel. There are promises (not yet fulfilled) which are applicable to Israel and not to the Church. The Church of the New Testament is not the Israel of the Old Testament. They are different and separate.

SOTERIOLOGY

God designed and initiated salvation through the Jewish people (Temple, sacrifices, laws, prophets, miracles), including the incarnation of His Own Son, through the linage of Abraham. Jesus said that salvation was of the Jews (Jn. 4:22).
