"The future of religious freedom depends on a free pulpit to communicate fundamental, biblical principles to congregations across America. @ Tag and encourage your pastor to join a growing movement of bold pastors preaching Biblical Truth from their pulpits on October 5, 2014."
(I then looked up the word) GAG...
Mirriam Webster
1
a : to restrict use of the mouth of by inserting a gag
b : to prevent from exercising freedom of speech or expression
c : to pry or hold open with a gag
2
: to provide or write quips or pranks for <gag a show>
3
: to choke or cause to retch
DLG...
Using all three definitions in one sentence.
Cowardly preachers allow the government, society and church boards to gag (1) them in the pulpit, which makes me want to gag (3), but instead I posted the following paragraph as a gag (2).
Hey, maybe I should do this. After all, it is only one Sunday; what can it hurt? And besides, if there are other preachers who do it on the same day, maybe no one will notice me. An added advantage is that I will be counted alongside of those other BOLD pastors. However, on that particular Sunday, I was going to preach that we ought to always obey the government and start service with the Pledge of Allegiance.
OK, I realize that there are faithful Bible preachers who will participate in this event. But how sad is it that it comes to this in order to get preachers to preach the truth!
