02/08/14 LIGHT IN A DARK PLACE

02/08/14 LIGHT IN A DARK PLACE

(I POSTED A PICTURE OF A ROOM IN COMPLETE DARKNESS)

This is a picture of another special getaway, where I spend time with God. Remember the beautiful seascapes I posted recently? In contrast, this is the curtain of physical darkness that surrounds me in the middle of the night, as I commune with God.

Sometimes I sense His loving presence, and respond with prayer and praise. Sometimes He nudges me awake and directs me to pray for specific needs. Sometimes I cannot sleep, so I lift my burdens and desires to Him, and intercede for others. Sometimes I just open my heart and mind to His love, His comfort and His healing.

Psalm 63:5-6
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

(SOMEONE JOKINGLY SAID THAT I HAD GONE TO THE DARK SIDE AND I RESPONDED)

No, you should read what I said. I said that in the dark of night I enter into His presence (which is light).
I dare not call His presence darkness.
I do not fear the darkness.
I trust Him in the darkness.
The darkness and the light are the same to Him.
He will make the darkness light before me.
Unto the upright a light rises out of the darkness.
The darkness hides me not from God, but even the night shines as the day.
I now walk in the light and the light dispels the darkness.
Since I am in the light, the darkness is past.

The darkness of the night time is not to be confused with the darkness of sin. No, I have not gone to the dark side.

(MY FRIEND CONTRADICTED MY THOUGHTS ABOUT GOD'S RELATIONSHIP WITH DARKNESS)

(to my friend) you may not like what I say, but you would be better off thinking twice before you question my accuracy concerning the Bible or theology. The fact is, those several statements are restatements of Bible verses.

As far as the light and darkness being the same to God, that means that He can see or He knows just as clearly what is in the dark as He does about what is in the light.

Psalms 139:12
(12) Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

Daniel 2:22
(22) He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
