02/07/14 HOMOSEXUAL TOLERANCE OR INTOLERANCE?

02/07/14 HOMOSEXUAL TOLERANCE OR INTOLERANCE?
(I hope you read at least two more paragraphs)

As a Christian (one who believes the Bible), I love my family, my friends, my neighbors, my enemies. This includes people who choose not to obey God. My loving them does not lead me to deny God's revelation, nor does their lostness lead me to hate them. My tolerance is based on divine love and redemption. There are times when Christians are the only ones who are loving and tolerant to homosexuals, while rejecting the sin of homosexuality.

But here are a couple of interesting things I have noticed concerning the tolerance of some homosexuals and the tolerance of those who are promoters of tolerance and political correctness.

1- I have had homosexual friends and even relatives become intolerant of me because of my alignment with the Biblical view of homosexuality, even if or even though I have never attacked, demeaned, turned away or even confronted them concerning homosexuality. In fact, I have taken steps to bridge the gap and extend the redemptive love of Christ.

Not only do they reject me, over a period of time they choose not to have any communications with me whatsoever. Remember, it may be that I never discussed homosexuality or even mentioned it to them. I never hide my faith in Christ or my beliefs, but I do not use my beliefs to offend people, regardless of their sins. I present Christ and salvation as a normal part of my life, but I do not try to bring anyone under conviction, since that is the Holy Spirit's work.

Toleration seems to be a one way street with some homosexuals.

2- People are becoming very pro-homosexual and anti-Christian in the public arena. It is acceptable for anyone and everyone to address the issue of homosexuality and the oddities that go with it, even to the point that it is referenced in political and entertainment circles. The homosexual community will talk openly and boldly and sometimes crudely about the aberrant or deviant practices/behavior of their lifestyle. But, if a Christian mentions any issue related to a homosexual or homosexuality in a conversation, without attaching moral judgments or ridicule, people tend to be intolerant of the Christian saying anything, simply because they know that Bible believing Christians reject homosexuality as sin. Remember, God deems drunkenness, adultery, stealing, lying, lusting, taking God's name in vain, polygamy and a plethora of other things to be sin also. Though Christians hate all sin, we love the sinners.

Society is tolerant of anti-Bible and anti-Christian and anti-God insults, entertainment, laws and offenses but they are intolerant of Christians believing the Bible position concerning homosexuality.
