11/29/14 PERSONALITY PROFILES

I mentioned that we laughed about our personality profiles in our fellowship on Thanksgiving. The reason it is funny is because there are some things that are true and some things that are totally in error. The reason any personality profile is accurate is because it is based on some facts, truths. There are human characteristics that are consistent with certain personality types. The reason it was funny is because humanistic evaluations are made concerning these facts and that is where they err.

However it is not funny when people take these testings seriously, since they are based on humanistic errors. In fact the testing we used was from Carl Jung, and therefore laced with occultic as well as humanistic error, along with the fact that Jung was opposed to the Bible and Christ.

It is good to understand our personality or our temperament type, but it must be understood in the light of Scripture. In fact the redemptive work of Christ nullifies much of the evaluation of the personality testings. Sadly, high school students and college students are easily impressed and influenced by the supposed accuracy and the pseudo-science, on which these tests are based. Humanistic psychology is one of the main tools Satan uses to lure young people away from God and the Bible. After these courses the students evaluate other people by these false principles. It is said that two thirds of the college students who enter college as believers will finish college without Christian faith. (I think it is even worse than this). Remember, psychology is only one of Satan's academic weapons.
