11/23/14 FAITH, WORKS, LOVE... BIBLICAL SALVATION
*Salvation is not earned, but received by grace through faith (Ep. 2:8-9).
*Believing on Christ is doing the work of God (Jn. 6:28-29).
*Doing the work of God (believing on Christ), is not a work of the flesh (Ro. 4:1-5).
*Faith in Christ is demonstrated in our works (Ja. 2:18).
*Faith without works is dead (Ja. 2:17).
*Without working faith, there is no salvation (Ja. 2:24).
*This righteousness is called "the righteousness of faith" (Ro. 9:30; Ep. 2:10; Ph. 3:9).
*The work of God (faith in Christ), leads to the works of repentance (Ac. 26:20).
*Repentance is turning from sin, following Christ, and doing good (Ph. 2:13).
*We are not saved by the law of works, but by the law of faith (Ro. 3:27).
*Under the rule of God (the Lordship of Christ, Ro. 10:9), the law of faith leads to the royal law (Ja. 2:8), also called the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Ro. 8:2-14), and the law of liberty (Ja. 1:25).

Romans 4:1-5
(1) What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
(2) For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
(3) For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
(4) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
(5) But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
James 2:18
(18) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
James 2:17

James 2:24
(24) Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Romans 9:30
(30) What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

Romans 3:27

Romans 8:2-14
(2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
(3) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
(4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
(5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
(6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
(7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
(8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
(9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
(11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
(12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
(13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
(14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
James 1:25
(25) But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
