10/10/14 A THOUGHT ON JACOB ARMINIUS' BIRTHDAY
DLG note...
It is important to remember that Arminius chose a path that contradicted the popular theology of his society and the prevailing theology of his mentors and family. He chose to believe the Bible when it was not convenient. A good example for all of us.
It is the realization that we must face our own guilt, turn from our sins and receive God's grace that we are delivered from sin's penalty, pollution and power. We have choices. We either stand or fall based on our choices. We either live or die, based on our choices. God has provided everything necessary for life and godliness, and He allows us to receive it or reject it.
2 Peter 1:3-4
(3) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
(4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
CHOOSE WISELY TODAY, YOUR FOREVER DEPENDS ON IT.
