The angel said that there is Good News for ALL PEOPLE (Lk. 2:10).
The Good News is that God sent His Son into the world to SAVE SINNERS (Jn. 3:16; 1 Tm. 1:15; 1 Jn. 2:2).
It is GOOD NEWS to WHOSOEVER WILL call upon the name of the Lord (Ac. 2:21).
According to the false doctrine of UNILATERAL, UNCONDITIONAL election, people do not have a free will choice concerning salvation. This false doctrine says there is Good News ONLY for those who supposedly have been UNILATERALLY and UNCONDITIONALLY elected to salvation.
According to the false doctrine of UNILATERAL and UNCONDITIONAL election, the birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ is BAD NEWS, because the god of UNILATERAL and UNCONDITIONAL election has actually predetermined, before the foundation of the world that some people will be lost, with no possibility of salvation. This is called DOUBLE UNILATERAL, UNCONDITIONAL election. (That is, you have no choice and you have no responsibility).
Election is a Biblical doctrine, which means that God elects people to salvation in Christ; that is, Christ died for the many (all) according to Romans 5:18-19. Many are called, but few are chosen (Mt.20:16).
God's election also has God's conditions.
God chooses...
those who submit to His sovereign rule (Ro. 10:9-10),
those who confess their sins (1 Jn. 1:9),
those who repent of their sins (Ac. 3:19),
those who believe on Christ (Ac. 16:31).
Remember, God is not willing that any should perish (1 Tm. 2:4; 2 Pe. 3:9).
