The flicker from a single candle can be seen from 10 miles away.
Jesus said,
Luke 11:33-36
(33) No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.
(34) The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.
(35) Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.
(36) If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.
ALL OF ONE AND NONE OF THE OTHER
Christ requires and enables believers to be "FULL OF LIGHT, HAVING NO PART DARK."
Sinning religion (defeatist religion) denies "no part dark" (total victory over sin).
Sinning religion (defeatist religion) denies any part light (any victory over sin).
Jesus taught that light and darkness are mutually exclusive.
Jesus taught that righteousness and sin preclude one another.
LET IT SHINE
Jesus also said,
Matthew 5:16
(16) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
How devoid of Christ must people be,
When their closest friends do not see,
The light of truth that will set them free.
TRUTH FREES US FROM SIN
John 8:32-36
(32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
(33) They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
(34) Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
(35) And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
(36) If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
