06/07/14 Sin Separates From God or God Separates From Sin

06/07/14 Sin Separates From God or God Separates From Sin

If a saved person lived a thousand years without sinning, and then committed the most minor of infractions, he would be guilty of all (Ja. 2:10-11), and would need reconciliation, because sin separates from God. This is also true if a saved person lives ten seconds without disobeying God (sinning). This reconciliation comes through God's grace, in the death and resurrection of Christ (Who is the propitiation [satisfaction] for the sins of the WHOLE world [1 Jn. 2:2]), and it comes by means of faith, which leads to repentance (turning from sin). This is what makes it GOOD NEWS to all men (Lk. 2:10).

If a person lived a thousand years in sin, and then believed on Christ (which results in repentance, confession and obedient faith), he would be forgiven of every sin he ever committed, because Jesus is the Lamb of God (Sacrifice) that takes away the sin of the world (Jn. 1:29) and Christ saves His people from their sins (Mt. 1:21).

Living by faith does does not allow us to live in sin (Ro. 6:1-2, 16-18; Ph. 3:9). I am thankful that Christ is my Advocate if I sin (1 Jn. 2:1-2), but He is also my abiding Lord and Savior (Ro. 6:11-15, 22), Who leads me not into temptation, but delivers me from the evil one (Lk. 11:4), and cleanses me from all sin (1 Jn. 1:9), as I walk in the light, as He is in the light (1 Jn. 1:7).

I do not rejoice that a brother or sister falls or fails in their walk with God, since
sin does not commend the righteousness of God (Ro. 3:5), and
sin does not demonstrate the grace of God (Ro. 6:1, 15).

I am glad when they are forgiven, cleansed, renewed (Lk. 15:7). God is glorified when the believer walks in a manner worthy of God (Co. 1:10; Eph. 4:1; 1 Th. 2:12), keeps God's commandments (Mt. 19:17; Jn. 14:15; Jn. 15:10; 1 Jn. 2:3; 1 Jn. 5:3).

James 2:10-11
(10) For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
(11) For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
