Every responsible and caring parent wants their children to put aside the attitudes, activities and associations that are destructive. Parents want their children to embrace the things that will make them sensible, successful, satisfied.
GOD IS AT LEAST THAT CARING. The present and passing pleasures and treasures of this life do not get us through our time of struggle and stress and strife.

God knows the future.
God knows what is best for us.
God wants the best for us. God will provide and guide us through the crooked corridors and perilous passage ways of testing and temptation.
God will comfort us in time of loss and strengthen us to bear our cross.
So, why wouldn't a person yield the control of his/her life to the One who loves, the One who will provide and protect, the One who has sacrificed His Son to save them and will one day judge them?
God does not promise a life without struggle or strain, but He does promise that He will lead and feed our inner man during our earthly journey and deed us a home with Him forever. God does all things well. He will never leave nor forsake nor fail nor forget those who trust Him.
It is not a matter of us trying to be or do better with our lives, it is a matter of turning from sin and self, surrendering our lives, as we believe and receive Christ, who died and rose again.
REMINDER...
And don't forget. He died. He rose again. He intercedes for us. He will live in us and strengthen and guide us. He is coming back. He will reign forever and ever.
