Some people think that being a Christian is a nicey spicey, easy peasy, pie in the sky by and by, simplistic existence, or as a very confining, judgmental, intolerant experience. They make such absurd assumptions because they do not know Jesus.
Yes, being a Christian is a life changing, attitude changing, direction changing, relationship changing, values changing experience, but it changes a person into the person that God wants him or her to be, which is always better. Everything good comes from the God of the Bible. Anything that seems to be good whether pleasurable or profitable, to the unsaved person is just a ruse, a counterfeit, an illusion. We will all have a day of awakening to eternal reality. We either awaken from self and sin in this world or we awaken to suffering and separation in the next world.
Being a Christ follower is not always an easy way, but it is always the best way.
As Paul said,
Philippians 1:21
(21) For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Christ followers have the best of two worlds, the world that now is, and the world to come.
1 Timothy 4:8
(8) For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
