04/03/14 GIVE US ENTERTAINMENT, REGARDLESS

I did not see the new movie, "Noah," but according to the reports (even by its supporters and creators), it seems to me that it is presented in a way similar to the preaching that takes place in most Protestant and Catholic pulpits today.

This is why people will feel comfortable and even promote the Aronofsky/Crowe presentation (actually, misrepresentation). They are accustomed to the Holy Bible being misrepresented and twisted and demeaned. They don't love the word of God or honor it as Divinely inspired (God breathed), inerrant and infallible, authentic and genuine (these are technical terms used in theology, with specific meaning and application concerning the Holy Bible). Too bad. The best lies that Satan tells never measure up to the grandeur and glory of God's truth.

This kind of misrepresentation of the historical record of the Bible is a slap in the face to intelligence and academia as well as the Christian faith. Even if you don't believe what the Bible says, at least be honest about what it says. But, since it is God's word, when the Bible record is corrupted and used for personal gain (whether by preachers or producers or directors or actors) it is very wicked.

But, people want to be entertained by Hollywood's butchering of God's word rather than be confronted and called to accountability by it. Our society is moving further and further from God, don't get caught up in the flood of worldly and corrupt excitement. Then again, these days are getting to be more like the days of Noah.
