03/12/14 CHOOSE YE THIS DAY...

03/12/14 CHOOSE YE THIS DAY...

Usually the choice (by people who profess faith in Christ), to not rise up against an oppressive government, is supposedly based on the Biblical idea of submitting to the legal authorities. However, a political machine and politically motivated population in the USA, which acts in opposition to the rule of the land (the US Constitution) is not legal. Therefore most of the failure to stand for that which is right is a failure of commitment and/or courage.

Often these same people will criticize those who hold to a Biblical position of non-violence (not to be confused with pacifism). However, the person who holds to Biblical non-violence is willing to suffer for his faith rather than surrender his faith, in order to avoid suffering.

Let me add, Biblical "non-resistance" stands against a wicked State, even when the State is consistent with its own appointed authority. Christians are commanded to not obey the State when it requires disobedience to God (Ac. 5:29).

Remember this, all authority is subject to God (Ro. 13:1-4), including kings, presidents, nations, courts. When we obey God, in disobedience to a godless "law" we are not lawless, we are faithful.

If a person calls himself, "Christian," he needs to throw down the sword of steel and take up the sword of the Spirit. He needs to quit excusing and bowing before wickedness and start standing for God and righteousness. If it does not happen soon (and I doubt it will) then our nation is going to fall fully into the hands of the enemy. This is not a lack of faith, it is a recognition of end times prophecy. I am not declaring the triumph of Satan over God: I am recognizing Satan's last ditch effort, before his final destruction.

We are not bystander's, we are participants in this earthly conflict. Choose ye this day whom you will serve (Jos. 24:15).
