One of the problems with living life in a frenetic, hurried, manic, hyperactive state is that it gives the appearance of purpose, drive, multitasking, enthusiasm, talent, when in fact it might be closing God out of the secret places of a person's life and neglecting the finer points of order and grace. The answer to being lackadaisical is not being over active. The answer is being Spirit controlled. Being super charged often indicates that a person is living in the power of the flesh rather than in the power of the Spirit.
To be controlled by the Spirit of God enables us to be Self Controlled (Ga. 5:22-23), temperate, patient, calm, assured, sensitive and responsive to God's leading, rather than committed to our own agenda. When we pack our lives with action or activities, we close God out of our lives. Take time to Be Holy (1 Pe. 1:15-16). Wait on the Lord (Ps. 27:14; Is. 40:31). Rest in the Lord (Ps. 37:7). In Patience Possess your soul (Lk. 21:19). Trust, Lean and Acknowledge God (Pr. 3:5-6). Fret not (Pr. 24:19). Teach your children to spend quiet time and to listen to His voice, even while they are busy doing His work (Pr. 22:6). Be Still (Ps. 46:10)
Self absorption and high energy often masquerade as spiritual power, when if fact they drain the person of the Spirit's power. Remember, there are people who have an appearance, a form of godliness, but they have denied, turned away from the power of God (2 Tm. 3:5).
