01/13/14 NO CONFLICT IN DIVINE DESIGN
I have been reading some discussions between Calvinists and Arminians lately. (Usually a lot more heat than light.)
It astounds me that people have a problem accepting the concepts of human free will and Divine Sovereignty. God, by design and creation, gave man free will, and by grace enables fallen men to freely accept or reject His salvation and Lordship. This is a case where sin did abound, but grace does much more abound. Sin would rob us of freedom, whereas God designed us with freedom and restores that freedom by grace.
Freedom of will never threatened the sovereignty of God, and God never denied humans the power of choice; Satan is the great robber, not God. I am just amazed at the confusion.
The laws, the warnings, the invitations, the judgments of the Bible are incompatible with double predestination (which denies men the freedom to accept or reject Christ).
