12/14/14 REJECTING TRUE LOVE

12/14/14 REJECTING TRUE LOVE

I offered to share Christ with a man today (who had been very crude and profane), but the man became irate and appeared ready to "throw down." I asked him if he ever has anyone share Jesus with him. That did not help his disposition.

Angrily he said he did not care if I did not like him or if anyone liked him. I pointed out that God loves him, but does not like the way he acts. I also told him that I love him, though I don't like the things he says.

He made a few more hateful comments. I asked him why he was angry with me. Through gritted teeth and flashing eyes he denied any anger. He said he did not want to hear or talk about Jesus.

I told him that if he ever wants to talk, I am available. This did not calm him down either. He said that the conversation was over and basically, he would have the last word. I said nothing.

But you know what? That conversation and the ministry of the Holy Spirit will actually replay in his mind, over and over, time and time and time again.

Sadly, there is more and more of this reaction to the love of Christ and standards of dignity and decorum.
