12/13/14 Now this is Good, because God said it

12/13/14 Now this is Good, because God said it

Luke 1:70-75
(70) As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
(71) That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
(72) To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
(73) The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
(74) That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
(75) In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

DLG notes...
vs. 70
God has spoken His unchanging word to us through His holy prophets, from the earliest times.

vs. 71
God promised He would save us from our enemies (sin, death, Satan) and from all that hate us. We need not fear nor dread, what either men or demons can do to us.

vs. 72
God promised, to the fathers, from the beginning, to extend His mercies and establish His covenant with His people. This promise is now accomplished for us, through the work of Christ on the Cross and the Holy Spirit in us.

vs. 73
God not only said it; He not only promised it; He not only said it through His prophets... GOD MADE AN OATH with Abraham. This conveys the great gravity and the great glory of this great promise.

vs 74
That God would grant us to be delivered out of the hand of our enemies. Not only is God able to keep us, He is able to keep us from being Satan's tool. We are no longer to be tools in the devilish work of Satan, manipulated to do his bidding.
God has made an oath that we might serve God confidently, without fear.

vs. 75
IN HOLINESS... IN RIGHTEOUSNESS... ALL THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES.

If we don't live up to this promise, it is because we refused His grace, it is not because God wouldn't do it, or couldn't do it. It is because we loved our sin more than we loved His Son and His salvation.

Our heart can be HOLY, our lives can be RIGHTEOUS, ALL THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES. There is no reason for failure, no excuse for episodic victory, no need to sin regularly, or occasionally.
God WILL deliver us, by His Power, by His Promise, by His Provision from the power, the pollution and the peril of the wicked one, so that we might confidently and unashamedly serve God constantly, consistently, continuously, Without Any Fear. That we might serve Him IN HOLINESS and IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, ALL THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES. Without Faltering, without Failing, without Fear.

If you are not living in this relationship, then you need to come aside from the world and spend time with Jesus, trust Jesus, allow Him to Melt you, Make you, Mold you, into His trophy of grace, into His chosen vessel.

If you do not accept and apply what this passage says to your own life, then cast away your "doubting Thomas doctrines of failure." Get alone with God, surrender your all to Him. Trust Him with your your life.
