12/05/14 OF COURSE CHILDREN CAN HAVE SAVING FAITH
Yes, it is possible for a child to go back on his/her commitment, then again, I have seen a great number of people who have gotten saved as adults go back on their commitments. In fact, I have seen a greater percentage of late converts turn from their faith, than I have seen children. I have also seen a greater percentage of the younger backsliders re-commit than I have seen among the adult backsliders.
Proverbs 22:6
(6) Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Another wonderful thing about God saving children is that He saves them from the vile and powerful snares, in which unsaved children are caught.
I am not afraid to lead a child to Christ, simply because they don't understand salvation. If that was the case, no one would get saved. Salvation is by faith, believing that Jesus loved us so much that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead physically, in order to forgive and change us.
Actually, when you think about this, children are much more likely to have faith (not to be confused with gullibility or naivety).
Luke 18:15-17
(15) And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
(16) But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
(17) Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
