11/17/14 BESETTING SIN
The reason Satan has a death grip on some people is because they will not turn loose of their "besetting sin." Sometimes they hold on because they love their sin, and sometimes it is because they are too proud to admit their corruption. This is also called "the evil heart of unbelief."
Hebrews 12:1
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Hebrews 3:12
(12) Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
