10/13/14 JUDGE BY AN UNWAVERING STANDARD

10/13/14 JUDGE BY AN UNWAVERING STANDARD

To judge Christianity or the Bible, based on a simplistic, uninformed, and a "hear-say" version is to misjudge the Bible and Christianity. The Bible is the revelation of God's dealings with humans, from the time of creation. God has used various systems in His relationship with the human race. The two most significant and obvious systems are found in the Old Testament, from Moses until the end of the Old Testament (which is often referred to as "The Law"), and the New Testament, from the time of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, until the time of the rapture of the Church (which is referred to as Grace, or Gospel, or Church).

If a person does not understand these two different ways of God's interaction with men, then he will have a twisted and inadequate view of the Bible and Christianity. The Christian faith is based on the life, ministry, teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus and revelation of God to the New Testament writers.

To judge Christianity by the actions of people who call themselves Christians, yet do not live by the revelation of the life and teachings of Christ and the New Testament leads to error.

Likewise, to judge Islam by any group that is not based in the teachings of Mohammed, the Koran and the Hadith is to misunderstand Islam.

A Christianity contrary to the life, teachings, sacrifice, resurrection of Jesus and the teachings of the New Testament writers is not Biblical Christianity.
An Islam contrary to the life and teachings of the founder(s) of Islam is not actual Islam.

Finally, true Christians are more than "believers" in a system. True Christians are people who are miraculously transformed by the redemptive work of God through His Holy Spirit, partakers of God's salvation.
