08/13/14 LIFE IS SCARY
The sixties were scary: Vietnam, Cuban missile crises, racial riots and violence, campus killings, bombings of police stations and churches and college buildings, assassinations, social and moral collapse, the cold war, domestic upheaval. Total collapse or overthrow was a daily option, and we felt it.
Today should be scary, but most folks in America don't grasp the gravity of our circumstances. They don't know what is going on and they don't want to know or they don't understand the implications about the things they do know. They are zoned out, tuned out, burned out, and buzzed out.
We have never been faced with more threatening circumstances, but our society is oblivious or willfully detached, because they are in LA LA Land. They are not interested in the true solution to our problems, or they have fallen victim to the experts and the snake oil that they are pushing, including political naivete, mental health gurus, humanistic academics, political correctness, social harmony, detente, pragmatism, religious pluralism, libertinism.
The world is open to every solution except the only real solution. There is not anything that Jesus cannot solve, but Jesus is not on society's list of answers.
Clarify some phrases...
Zoned Out... Convinced that their aberrant worldview is normal and that Christian, Biblical, and that fundamental, historic American values are dangerous or outdated.
Tuned Out... Choosing to turn from traditional values in favor of political correctness, by refusing to listen or read anything that makes them uncomfortable in their more modern, more liberal mindset.
Burned Out... While still holding to the "old ways", they have become tired of the seeing their orderly and established life being accosted and destroyed, therefore they choose to not hear the bad news of the day.
Buzzed Out... These folks have retreated into a bottle or some other drug and find it easier to trip than stand for that which is right.
