07/13/14 WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD IT MAKE?

07/13/14 WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD IT MAKE?

So, if you died this coming week, what emptiness would you leave in your church, other than a vacant place on a pew?

I realize there are people who would miss you and mourn for you.

But what I am asking is, what part of the body life, outreach life, ministry life, service life, edification life, financial life, property and ministry tool upkeep, people life would miss your work, your input, your presence, your dedication, your productivity, your gifts?

Would your absence leave a void (which God might fill with another dedicated worker, if there is another one to fill it) or would it even matter? Or, for some who think they have a lifetime claim on a ministry, would your church finally be able to get someone who is more responsive to God, with a current vision and a servant attitude?

BTW, no one should serve God and His people from guilt, pressure, habit, pride or self aggrandizement. We need to have such a consuming love for God that we must serve. We need to have such an inextinguishable vision for the lost that we must serve. We need to care for the brethren so much that we must serve.
