07/11/14 ANTISEMITISM SPREADING IN OUR SOCIETY

I heard someone recently say that the problems in Israel started with "those three teenagers," referring to the three Jewish teens who were kidnapped, while returning home from school, and then killed by Muslims. I quickly pointed out that the three students were not the cause, but it started with Mohammed over a thousand years ago and it is continued by Islam. A Jewish friend standing nearby was obviously offended by the other person's absurd statement, and she gave a quick assessment of the facts. I added to her argument that there is a rise in antiSemitism in the world and in our own country.

Remember,
Jesus was a Jew.
The Disciples and Apostles were Jews.
The followers of Christ during His earthly ministry were Jews.
The Great Commission of Christ started with the Jews.
The overwhelming percentage of Christian believers during the first years of the Church were Jews.
The foundation of the New Testament is the Jewish Old Testament.
Jesus is the fulfillment of hundreds of Jewish prophecies in the Jewish Scriptures.
In the New Testament, God has promised to restore Israel to a right relationship through Jesus, the Messiah.

Here is a quick recap of antiSemitism in modern times....
Antisemitism started in the days of Abraham and continued to modern times.
Mohammed led his followers in Jew hating and killing.
Roman Catholicism blamed the Jews for the killing of Jesus and propagated Jew hating. (Notice the irony, they were ROMAN Catholics who blamed the Jews for killing Jesus). Catholic Jew hating resulted in the Roman religion murdering countless Jews.
Martin Luther held to some of his Roman religion, including his antisemitism, and passed it on to his followers in the Reformation.
AntiSemitism grew in Spain, Britain, Russia, Germany and America.
Reformed Theology, Covenant Theology, Replacement Theology have also contributed to a rise in antiSemitism, by denying the place that Israel has in the plan of God. To deny Israel the Divine right to the land of Israel is to deny the Jews the covenants that God established with them.

Today, Liberalism gives political clout to the theological errors and spiritual bankruptcy, which deny God's plan for Israel and espouses the antiSemitism of the day. Liberalism sides with the Jew hating Islamic view, contributing to a Perfect Storm of Jew Hating in the world.

To side with Israel's enemies is a sure step in the wrong direction.
