06/14/14 A FEW KEY COMPONENTS TO LIVING WITHOUT SIN.

06/14/14 A FEW KEY COMPONENTS TO LIVING WITHOUT SIN.
( a few notes from one of my videos)

A Few Key Components To Living Without Sinning. Obviously this is applicable to Christians, since the only deliverance from sin is obtained by faith in Christ. Jesus saves His people from their sins (Mt. 1:21)

GOD CALLS SINNERS TO FAITH
Psalms 4:4-5

(4) Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
(5) Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
dlg notes... The sinner escapes sin by acknowledging the glory of God and accepting the blood sacrifice of Christ, and trusting Him daily.

GOD CONVICTS SINNERS OF SIN
Exodus 20:20

(20) And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
dlg notes... The Ten Commandments were not given to save men from their sins, but to show men that they are sinners, separated from God. Accepting God's mercy saves us from God's judgment. Terrifying fear is replaced with reverential fear. Reverential fear leads us away from sin.

GOD CONQUERS SIN THROUGH GRACE
Romans 5:19-21

(19) For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
(20) Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
(21) That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:1-2
(1) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
(2) God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 6:14-16
(14) For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
(15) What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
(16) Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

GOD CONVERTS SINNERS FROM SIN
1 Corinthians 15:34

(34) Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1 John 3:8-9
(8) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
(9) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1 John 5:18
(18) We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

GOD'S WORD CONQUERS SIN
Psalms 119:11

(11) Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

(reiterated in N.T.)
1 John 2:1

(1) My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

CONTINUING IN CHRIST CONQUERS SIN
1 John 3:6

(6) Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1 John 2:6
(6) He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

John 15:4-7
(4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
(5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
(6) If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
(7) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
