06/03/14 MURDER BY SIN

06/03/14 MURDER BY SIN

No one is saved because he keeps the commands of God.

No one is saved if he does not keep the commands of God.

These comments are not contradictory; they are complimentary. Both statements are Biblical. Both statements are true.

It is a matter of, "cause and effect." Keeping God's commands is not the cause of our salvation: keeping God's commands is the effect of our salvation.

Satan has been in the business of attacking obedience to God since the Garden, because Satan is a liar and a murderer. The lie is; "Sin does not bring death (separation from God)." The murder weapon is sin.

God says...
Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Ro. 3:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ja. 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Contrary to the lie of Satan, Christians are not exempt from obedience to God. Actually, being saved enables both the desire and the ability to obey God.
