05/19/14 WHAT DO WE DO WITH "EVERY THOUGHT?"

EVERY THOUGHT EVIL
We can go the way of the world, as in Noah's day, when every thought was evil.
Genesis 6:5
(5) And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE TO CHRIST
Or we can live by the power of God, as He enables us to bring every thought into obedience of Christ, which results in godly living, victorious living.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
(3) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(4) (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
(5) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

SO, when you are accosted with negative thoughts, complaining thoughts, criticizing thoughts, sinful thoughts, you can either entertain them (which results in spiritual defeat), OR, you can bring them into obedience to Christ, resulting in victorious living.
