05/09/14 THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL...

We sometimes hear people say, "Love (or joy or tension,) is in the air." There is more to this statement than meets the eye. These intangible qualities are real, though they are not material.

IN THE AIR...
Intangible qualities, positive and negative, emanate from a non-physical source.

True love and joy and compassion come from God, Who is a Spirit. The Greek and Hebrew words that are translated as, "spirit" can also be translated as wind or breath.

Affection or happiness on a strictly human level is the soulish response to a pleasant or pleasurable sensation or concept. This is our own attitude.

Tension or suspicion or criticism comes from Satan, which is made more understandable when we realize that Satan is the prince of the power of the air (this present world system).

Remember, these intangibles are not just the product of accident or circumstance. They have a point of origin and a source of dispatch.
When you are feeling a little antsy, it may be more than just a physical reaction to a medication or a buzz from something you ate or drank.
When you are feeling depressed, it may more than just coming off of a sugar high or some other physical cause.
When you sense pride or humility; camaraderie or divisiveness; acceptance or rejection, it may be that they are coming from more than just a temporal or natural cause.

It could be, "in the air." It could be the blessing of God, descending as a merciful mist; Don't reject or neglect it.
Or it could be the dark fog of Satan, slipping over us, like a shroud, or falling on us like a tsunami; Don't submit or surrender to it.

Of course, Satan wants us to think that the negativity always originates within ourselves or someone else. This is how we become unwary conveyors of dark forces, or we unfairly resent and blame other people. The atmosphere of tension, suspicion, anger can find harbor in our own heart and mind, and create a chasm between us and other people.

Likewise, God wants to spread His light, life, love upon us and among us. When we are sensitive to His blessings, God will use us as channels to minister to others.

While we cannot change the attitude of other people, we can refuse to be manipulated by the negativity "in the air."

James 3:13-18
(13) Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
(14) But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
(15) This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
(16) For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
(17) But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
(18) And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
