04/15/14 THE COURAGE OF CONVICTION...

04/15/14 THE COURAGE OF CONVICTION...

Let me help some of ya'll understand something. When a Christ follower denounces homosexuality, it is not because we hate the person but because we hate homosexuality. This is the Biblical position.

On the other hand, we are watching a real display of hypocrisy and ambivalence when we see the large numbers of people embracing and advocating for homosexuality today. It is not because all of them have become pro homosexual, but rather they do not have the courage to stand against the changing winds of adversity; they fear offending people rather than offending God.

Some of them (read that, "most of us") have friends and family who are homosexual. But since an unsaved person does not understand what it means "to hate sin and love the sinner," as God does, then the unsaved think they must choose one or the other, rather than holding both principles.

One more quick thought. Just as a Divine, instantaneous, crisis experience of salvation leads to a pattern of spiritual growth and change in a Christian, taking them from light to light and from grace to grace, and from faith to faith, and from strength to strength, so the Bible rejecting person is taken from darkness to darkness, from corruption to corruption, from doubt to doubt, and from weakness to weakness. The Bible refers to this as the "cup of iniquity." We are watching our society fill it's cup to overflowing, as it was in the days of Noah.
