The Bible is like a Divine "selfie." A selfie is a photograph that a person takes of himself. Though selfies are sometimes the expression of self orientation, sometimes selfies are a way to share yourself with other people. A Divine selfie is God's way of sharing Himself and His blessings with others. The Bible is God's depiction of Himself and His dealings with mankind.
God is, by nature, pure spirit. Though the Son became a man and took on a physical body, the Father and the Holy Spirit are still pure spirit. It is in Jesus we find the greatest likeness of the Father, since Jesus is the "express image" of the Father (He. 1:3).
But God has also chosen to show Himself to us through the Bible. It is as if God took His own picture and gave it to us, so that we might know about Him and that we might come to know Him personally.
Therefore, if you want to know what God is truly like, you can look at His self revelation in the Bible and accept His Son into your heart and life.
