I think that I have some valuable insights to share with people after...
62 years in a vibrant, adventurous, personal relationship with Christ;
49 years of walking in the Spirit;
49 years of intense Bible study, preaching and teaching;
45 years of pastoral ministry in various settings, and successful Christian counseling (marital, family, vocational, relational, conflict resolution);
and being the husband of one wife for 45 years,
the father of four adult children who have never left the church and are still in their original marriages, and are the parents of healthy, strong, personable, culturally astute and socially adjusted children of their own.
And what I have to offer is not even my own invention or personal insights: they are truths that God imparted by His Spirit, through His word.
Silly me, why would anyone listen to me? There are so many other voices to hear and so many other people to follow.
Still, I watch them heep failure and disappointment into their lives, rather than enter into joy, peace, love, purity, success.
I am not addressing just "someone," but several someones. It hurts to see people hurt when they do not have to hurt. I address a plethora of issues. I post, because I realize there are people who may read, learn and profit from this, who are resisting God's provision, whether it is me or some other messenger who brings it.
It is like when Jesus said, "... how often would I have gathered... but ye would not!"
My comment applies to people i know personally and also to a world in trouble.
I have often told other people how sad that the world rejects the message of God, since it is the only answer to mankind's greatest problems. The sadness is intensified when loved ones and friends are rejecting, and you are watching the train wreck, but can't stop it.
