03/11/14 BIBLICAL VIEW OF A CHURCH
It is true that God's Word says, "where two or three are gathered together," He is in the midst. But a gathering of Christians is not necessarily a church. When I am with various Christians, I am not their pastor, because we are not a church (though we are part of the universal Church).
It is also true that the genuineness of a church is not determined by size, social status, finances or program.
Some of the components of an actual church are...
A group of saved people committed to worshipping and serving God in a corporate fashion, believing the same doctrines and supporting each other in time of need.
A man (shepherd) appointed, anointed, gifted and called by God to lead, feed and serve that congregation, in obedience and conformity to the revealed will of God, concerning every area of life; personal, familial, congregational, social and legal.
The congregation and pastor work together, using their spiritual gifts, natural treasures and talents, to evangelize the lost, edify the believer and exalt God.
