03/07/14 SUPER HERO OR SUPER TEAM? (3 points)

03/07/14 SUPER HERO OR SUPER TEAM? (3 points)

1. Super Hero

I encourage Christians to find the super human powers that the Holy Spirit endows believers with, whether from the Biblical list of "Gifts of the Spirit" or some special and unique empowerment, or the super natural empowering of "natural gifts" from God (abilities, skills, talents).

2. Undiscovered Powers
However, there are few people who are SUPER heroes. For one thing, the "gifting" is by God's choice. Another reason is that some people could far exceed human expectations, but they do not follow through with God, or they do not understand the plan and provision of God for their lives, or they do not know how to hone and develop their supernatural tools, or, maybe there are other reasons. Let's face it, most church leaders do not lead believers into victory over sin, much less victory over Satan and victory over the gates of hell.

3. Super Team
However, when the people of God "team up" (combine and coordinate) their God given strengths and weapons, they become a great force of God, even defeating the Gates of Hell (Mt. 16:18).

God's plan for "teaming" is in the family, and in the local church. While there are a limited few who mobilize the larger body of Christ, through public channels (such as preaching, teaching, writing, electronic and social media), most believers can greatly impact, influence and enable their families and their local churches.

Every Christian in a family and local church needs to find and fine tune his God given strengths, as well as trust God with his weaknesses. Each Christian needs to humble himself and serve others in his own family and local church. Every Christian needs to come under the authority of spiritual leadership, which will enable, encourage and employ him as a team member, working together.

God was impressed with the evil potential of the sinners who were building the Tower of Babel.
Genesis 11:6

(6) And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Even today we see horrendous things accomplished by the united efforts of wicked men. How much more should we expect great and glorious things to be accomplished by those who agree in principle and in practice, as they trust in the Lord?
Psalms 87:2-3

(2) The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
(3) Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.

1 Corinthians 2:9-10
(9) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
(10) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Do not fault other people, instead surrender what you are, what you have and what you do, into the hands of God and the service of others.
