03/01/14 LIFE CYCLE OF A SAINT

03/01/14 LIFE CYCLE OF A SAINT

As sinners, we need to be made alive in Christ (Ep. 2:5). As Christians, we need to be crucified with Christ (Ro. 6:6).

The model life cycle of a saint (saved person) is...
1- We were Dead in Trespasses and Sins, and Enslaved by the Old Man (sinful nature), before faith in Christ.
2- We were Made Alive in Christ, having put on the New Man (Divine nature), at time of conversion.
3- We Deny Ourselves, Take Up Our Cross and Follow Jesus, in our daily walk of faith, with the inward battle between the Old Man and the New Man.
4- We were Crucified with Christ, putting off the Old Man, at the time of full surrender (total commitment).
5- We Deny Ourselves, Take Up Our Cross and Follow Jesus, in our daily walk of faith, filled with the Holy Spirit and walking in the fullness of the blessing.
6- God delivers us from our present defeat.

We need not fail, but if we falter along the way, we must repent and call on Christ in faith. He will be our advocate and He will restore (mend) us.
