02/11/14 PUT OFF PRETENSE

02/11/14 PUT OFF PRETENSE

David, as a shepherd boy, stood before king Saul and recounted his victories over the bear and the lion. As he prepared to face off with Goliath, David put on the armor of Saul, but removed it because it was not right for him. Instead he marched into battle against the giant Philistine, equipped with only his own abilities, his own weapons, his own attire and the power of God. David defeated the enemy, not by pretense or by reputation, but by trust in God.

How sad that some people feel they can not deal with life without putting on a show, acting a part, pretending to be something that they are not. Instead they suppose that image will win the day, instead of faith in the living God'. They live a miserable life of hypocrisy and they spread their failure to others around them. When it comes down to it, they themselves are the only ones who are fooled.
