01/24/14 DEALING WITH FRIENDSHIP, NOT JUST A FRIEND
Having a great time with a great friend, brother Wade. We have talked about a lot of issues and laughed at some funny stuff and played some mongo Pball. We enjoyed a seafood supper and now we get to rest our weary bones. hehehe. But, there is still tomorrow and Sunday.
One of the really good things about fellowship with a brother who has the same worldview, is that we both get to just enjoy life. There is no drama, suspicion, second guessing. It makes me wish that all of my friends would enjoy the life of spiritual rest that Jesus offers. In fact, I can't understand why anyone would not want the Lordship of Christ over their lives.
Being fully committed to Christ does not preclude trials, troubles and tensions. However, a complete trust in Christ takes the torment out of our testing. Being fully committed to Christ does not save us from challenges and struggles, but it does give us victory over all of our difficulties.
Hebrews 3:12-19
(12) Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
(13) But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
(14) For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
(15) While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
(16) For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
(17) But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
(18) And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
(19) So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
