01/02/14 Human Self Determination Is Important To God

01/02/14 Human Self Determination Is Important To God
(a principle and my point)

A PRINCIPLE...
God created angels and humans with the power of self determination, free will. Angels are a created order (having no offspring), but man is a race, descending from our original parents. Adam's will was originally untainted, but his rebellion in the garden corrupted his entire being, including his ability to freely choose and perform the will of God. All of Adam's children are born in Adam's image, therefore with a corrupted and incapacitated free will.

In order for the human will to be free from the controlling corruption of his fallen nature, man must be enabled by the intervening gracious work of the Spirit of God. God intervened in behalf of all children before they were born, and He intervenes again in the lives of young people when they begin to sin knowingly and deliberately against God. As the Scripture teaches, each man is accountable for his own sins and not the sins of his father or his children.

God restores the human will with the ability to freely choose, otherwise, men are not legitimately accountable for their actions. God was not willing for the deception of Satan or the rebellion of Adam to ultimately rob every man of his free will, therefore God enables fallen men to freely choose. Neither does God impose His will on men, to accept or reject Divine rule. This is how important free will is to God.

MY POINT...
The only way to do the will of God is to accept the gracious offer of God's power, by believing on Christ. There must be a surrender of our will to His will. This initial step of faith must be followed by a constant, continuous reliance and submission to His saving grace, which enables us to trust and obey Him.

2014 can be a year of spiritual success and joy. God provides Christians with everything that is necessary for life and godliness. If you fail along the way, do not surrender to defeat. Call on Christ to forgive, cleanse and restore you. The Christian life is a walk of faith, not simply a one time decision.
